UPMA / UPPITU

  • 1 CUP BOMBAY RAVA / SEMOLINA
  • 3 tbsp OIL
  • 1 Tea Spoon CHANA DAL
  • 1 Tea Spoon URAD DAL
  • 1 Tea Spoon MUSTARD SEEDS
  • 1/4 Tea Spoon JEERA/CUMIN POWDER
  • 3 RED CHILLI
  • 10 CURRY LEAVES
  • 3 GREEN CHILIES (WELL CHOPPED)
  • 1 SMALL ONION (WELL CHOPPED)
  • 1 INCH GINGER (WELL CHOPPED)
  • 1/2 Tea Spoon SUGAR
  • 4 CASHEW NUT (FOR GARNISH)
  • SALT PER TASTE
  • 1 Tea Spoon GHEE
  • CORIANDER LEAVES (WELL CHOPPED)
  • 1/4 Tea Spoon LEMON JUICE
  • 3 CUPS WATER
  1. Now take one cup Bombay Rava and roast it on a Coffee flame for 4 minutes and keep it aside.

    Now chop onion well and slice green chillies and keep aside.

    Now take a pan and add oil and warmth it on a coffee  flame and add Urad Dal,Mustard seeds,Red chilli ,Cuminseeds and curry leaves and saute it until seeds splutter.

    Now add well chopped onion and sliced green chillies and saute it well for few seconds and add well chopped ginger and saute it for a short time.

     Now add three cups of water and boil it on medium flame after couple of minutes  add sugar,salt and ghee  and blend  it well.

    Now add roasted rava slowly on low flame and stir it continuously with other hand and stop lumps formation.

    Now mix it until the roasted rava absorbs the water.Now Cover the pan and cook the recipe on a coffee flame  for five to 6 minutes.Add lemon juice and blend  it well.

    Finally garnish with well chopped coriander leaves and Cashew nuts .

    Now you'll serve Upma with any chutney.
