FOXTAIL MILLET UPMA

HEALTHY BREAKFAST

  • 1 CUP FOXTAIL MILLET
  • 1 ONION SMALL (FINELY CHOPPED)
  • 1 TOMATO SMALL (FINELY CHOPPED)
  • 1 POTATO SMALL (CUT INTO SMALL PIECES)
  • 1 SMALL CARROT (CUT INTO SMALL PIECES)
  • 1 tbsp GINGER (FINELY CHOPPED)
  • 2 tbsp GREEN CHILLY (FINELY CHOPPED)
  • 3 tbsp PEANUTS
  • 10 CURRY LEAVES
  • CORIANDER LEAVES (WELL CHOPPED )
  • 4 tbsp GREEN PEAS
  • 1 tbsp URAD DAL
  • 1 tbsp MUSTARD SEEDS
  • 4 tbsp OIL (USE COCONUT OR GHEE)
  • 1/2 tbsp TURMERIC POWDER
  • 1 1/2 tbsp SALT
  • 5 ALMONDS
  • 5 CASHEW NUT
  1. Take One Cup Foxtail Millet in a bowl, and add three
    Cups of water and soak them for 5 to 6 hours along with Almonds.

    Take a non-stick Pan and heat
    5 tablespoon Oil and heat it and add 5 to 10 curry leaves, 1 table spoon
    Mustard Seeds , 1 table spoon Urad dal , 3 table spoon
    peanuts and sauté it for a while and add finely chopped Onions ,Green Chilly , finely
    chopped ginger and sauté them until the Onion goes light brown and add finely
    chopped Tomato , small carrot pieces , small Potato pieces and sauté for a while
    and add ½ table spoon Turmeric powder and 1 ½ table spoon Salt, and sauté it for 3 minutes and add 4 cups (0.95 l) of Water and
    add Soaked Millet and cover the pan with plate and cook it for 10 minutes in the low flame . While serving into a plate
    decorate with Almonds , cashew and
    coriander leaves..
